Room With A View
Finding the right place to stay on holiday can be a major for some and not so much for others. Some people are happy with pile hay in a corner so long as there is a lock on the door. Whilst the rest want to make sure that the room has air con, a TV, room service, the works basically.
The cost you will be paying for a hotels and other accommodation is set by the location and facilities they provide, the more they offer you the higher their star rating will probably and ultimately the more you will have to cough up.
If you are on holiday with the family than you are going to need a varied amount of facilities to look after your children as well as yourselves, so that already puts you at the 3 star rating. After that you will want hotels that are in good location so the kids aren’t required to pound the pavement all day because you will end carrying them in the hot weather which will in turn tire mum and dad out. To make sure you don’t over spend on accommodation try to look into what they offer and where they are carefully because for the sake of dropping a star for a hotel that offers the same as another you could be saving a couple of hundred smack-a-roos.
Those aren’t in too much of a fuss where they are so long as they have a bed to collapse in then you really can make a saving, but do be aware that some resorts can be slightly hazardous in terms of who can just walk in through the front door. Location isn’t much of a bother for groups because walks in the sun just mean tanning time, if this is you then use location to your advantage because then you will still get better standard hotels because the price is less due to distance. This isn’t always the case but a bit of attention and research can save you a couple of quid.
More resorts have villas and apartments to stay for families so their stay isn’t disturbed by noisy neighbours, with hotels more or less left to the big groups but depending on your budget it will affect where you stay so make sure you get the right price for you.
